Pie Sunday...we should all try that!!!!

July 27, 2015
Hey everyone!
Best excuse ever for canceling an appointment...

It's been a great week! We had a lot going on!
Monday we bowled and played pool and had fun at bumpers, it was sweet!

Tuesday was pretty decent, Holly (investigator) was really struggling, we found out there was an argument between her and another investigator, so she'll be waiting to quit smoking. It was hard to see her struggling. We also found out one of our other investigators is a pot head, which wasn't much of a surprise, but it's going to be interesting to work through. That evening we had an awesome visit with Glennyss, Sis Price and her met us at the Family history center and we had an awesome lesson and got her started on her family history, she loved it! It was great. We had dinner at our ward mission leader's (wml's) house, the Wilbergs. It was super good, they're an awesome family!

Wednesday we did lots of waiting for interviews with Presient and Sis. Dymock. It was really good. They're awesome! We had a lesson with Hollly, she's still struggling, but she'll come out of it soon. We had an awesome visit with the Brown family. One of their sons just turned 12 and he's super excited to get the priesthood, unfortunately his family is very LA so we don't know how soon it's going to happen. It was kinda frustrating, the children all want to go to church, but the parents both really don't. It is heartbreaking. However, we gave their son 2 ties and a duty to God booklet and he was super excited. It was great!

Waiting to meet the President!
Thursday we did Service at the diaper bank and had weekly planning. We had dinner with the Powells and Brittany and it was really good.  Spagetti! It was tasty! Afterwards we visited Holly and Riley and Riley said she wants to be a mormon! It was super CooL! The spirit was strong in that lesson. Then we went to the Luna's and taught tithing, it was sweet! Then we went to the Collins and had a great visit. it was a super busy super good night.

Friday we had another good visit with Holly and Riley, we gave Riley her own copy of the BoM and she loved it! We also had a good lesson with the Rays, she's super excited for her baptism and it was great. We had dinner at Boston's pizza, and it was pretty good, super busy though. We also did service for Glennyss and found out more about her beliefs. She's going on a church tour with us this week and it's going to be great!

Saturday was fairly uneventful, we had a pioneer day celebration with tons and tons of cinnamon rolls and we got followed home that afternoon by a big white Church van, they gave us a love letter from jesus, it was pretty weird, but we gave all 10 people in the van passalong cards for mormon.org. It was pretty funny. We had dinner at the Luna's that night, steak and potatoes! It was way good. The Luna's are so awesome!

Sunday we had a really good day at church. Sabbath day was the topic and it was great! Check out this great talk about the sabbath:

We also had pie Sunday in elder's quorum (E.Q.) which was the BEST IDEA EVER!!!! Everyone brought pie and it was super good. There was a mini feeding frenzie after church though as all the young men found out about it. It was a great week!

Love ya'll!

Temple, family search, quitting smoking and tithing!

July 20, 2015
This week has been pretty exciting!

Tuesday we went to the Temple so Sis Powell could get her endowments! It was an amazing experience and there was so much love and support. They're doing so great!

We also had an amazing lesson with Glennyss. We did service for her last week and then we talked a ton about family history, she loved it! So we took a member with us and we helped her get on familysearch.org, and she loved it so much! It was pretty sweet. So we set a return appointment for later in the week to go with her to the Family history center and get help with some documents we had.
Wednesday we did lots of service and had a fun lesson with the Collins about tithing. We used skittles to show the blessings that come from tithing. It was great!

Thursday we helped paint a house for about 8 hours and then had a huge bbq, it was awesome! Super good food! Afterwards we had weekly planning, which was a huge battle against the great and terrible food coma! It worked out really well though, we got a lot done.

Later that evening we visited one of our investigators Jill, and were having a lesson on her balcony and then another investigator, Holly, rode by on her bike and said "Hey! Can I come talk too!?" So we had a lesson with both of them and ended up committing them both to quit smoking and start living the word of wisdom. It was really cool.

That evening we were supposed to have a lesson with Glennyss and we called to confirm the appointment and she said "Sorry, I spent too much time on Familysearch and can't talk today cause I need to get stuff done!"It was awesome! She just fell in love with familysearch!

Friday we had dinner with the senior missionaries and enjoyed hanging out with them. It was lots of fun. We also helped the Sweckers move out one of our former's stuff who was evicted. It was kinda odd feeling.

That evening we went to Jill's for dinner with people from her apartment. It was really cool.  A lot of them didn't really like us at first, but by the end they weren't afraid to talk to us. It was sweet! And the pork shoulder was super good too!
Saturday was sweet! We went to the Powells sealing and the spirit was so strong! Their little boy came in to be sealed and he was so well behaved, it was amazing, especially since he usually terrorizes the village! Afterwards we went to their home for his baby blessing and it was just an amazing experience. That morning we went to contact someone iI'd talked to a week or two ago and she was outside setting up for a yard sale. It was super funny, all the stuff she was putting in her lawn was stuff we had moved out of our investigators house. Awkward!!!
So we taught someone, they went missing, they turned up, we helped evict them, and then we found their stuff at a garage sale. It was crazy!

Sunday wasn't too eventful, we had a huge pot roast at the Nicholls house and then saw a couple families and taught the Luna's about tithing. It was a good day and we enjoyed the special discussion in Sunday School about the sabbath day and observing it properly.

It was a good week!

Word of the week...Service!

Hey Everyone!
Elder Griffin, Larson, Jorgensen, Kattil
It's been a great week!

Monday we went bowling and had a sweet time! afterwards we had an amazing dinner with the Meredith family and our investigator Nicole. it was awesome! She's planning on getting baptized in a couple weeks!

Tuesday we spent most of the day helping Elder Wall move furniture for missionary apartments that are opening. That evening we had dinner at the Jeromechecks, they're a super awesome family and Sis Jeromecheck is a huge mission mom, so I'm pretty excited!

Wednesday we had a ton of fun, we helped paint a house and had spaghetti and lots of fun. Then we saw a ton of people and even had a miracle contact with a lady that's moving from the South Hill and hasn't talked with missionaries for a long time. It was great!

Thursday we had weekly planning and did service , it was pretty uneventful.

Friday was great. We helped Elder Wall move again and had zone conference. We had dinner at the Luna's house and it was great. RIBS!!! I left stuffed and could hardly ride a bike. Then we went to the Powells who are getting ready to be endowed and sealed this week! It was a great visit!

Saturday we visited Sis Moosmen and enjoyed rain and such. It was good.  We also moved some more with Bro Wall and planted a bunch of bushes for another lady. It was super busy. We probably did 25 hrs of service this week! It was super fun!

Sunday we had transfers, everyone is staying!!!!

We had a good day at church, we even taught primary, which was super fun. That evening we had a visit with Andrew, a new investigator. He's super super smart and has little understanding of God, it was very interesting. He's got a lot of potential, so it was good. He'll just need to be a little less learned or something.

It was a great week!

Independence Day fun -- Heat, BBQ, bowling, mini golf and a S.T.R.E.T.C.H. limo!!!

Hey Everyone!
Elder Hunter

It was a pretty good week this week, lots of fun with the 4th!

Monday we had a super chill pday, we went bowling and played mini golf. It was good.

Elder Hunter, Timu, Elder Jorgensen, Elder Griffin
Tuesday we had a good lesson with the collins family about prophets and the spirit was really strong and we were able to help Sis Collins get a better understanding of why prophets are important. We also saw the Luna family and had a nice visit and got some water (it's been so hot!)

Wednesday was good, we had weekly planning and got a lot done, we stopped by the Collins to drop off some church dvd's and they just opened up about some things they'd been struggling with, it was really good. The spirit helped us better understand their needs and help them resolve some of their concerns. They're so ready for baptism. it's just a matter of when they feel ready.

Thursday we met the new mission president! He seems super cool, I'm excited to get to know him better. Afterward we had an interesting experience. One of the missionaries made us get a ride home with them and basically made it sound like we were going to ride home in this super sketchy vw bus, and then all of the sudden a stretch hummer limo pulls up and he tells us to get inside! It was crazy! Super funny!
Friday we went on exchanges and Elder Kattil was my companion. It was lots of fun and we were just going hard all day in the heat. In the morning we went to a funeral for an elderly man in Dishman Michah ward and the speaker gave a beautiful discourse on the plan of salvation. Afterwards we worked all day in the heat and had some really good contacts. One miracle I saw was, we were biking to this house to contact a potential, and we knocked on the door and were both just dying of heat. We were both out of water and were just overheated. The lady answers the door and says "boys! it's 110 degrees outside. What are ya doing? Let me give you some water. It was great! She gave us the water and politely said she wasn't interested, but I really appreciate GOOD CHRISTIAN people. She may not have been ready for the gospel life, but she truly represented a good christian.

Saturday was pretty fun, Independance day! We had a ward breakfast and a lot of the families we'd been working with were there. It was great. Afterwards we went and visited Sis Moosmen and wished her a happy 4th. She really appreciated the visit. Then we went to a la sister named Latina and had a bbq with her for lunch. It was really good and she really enjoyed having us over. She's such a mission gma! That evening we went to a bbq with Dishman Michah and had ribs and fun with one of their families. It  was super good!

Sunday was pretty uneventful except one of the Luna's daughters got up and bore her testimony on fast Sunday! It was sweet! it was her first time at church too! It was awesome!

Great week!
